The Holiday Season is extra bright this year as we get to witness Mary develop a love of Christmas lights, a respect for over-the-top yard decor, and a healthy skepticism of Santa.
2023 was filled with our favorite things: friends, food, and travel.Â
We skied Killington in Vermont in January, experienced Bruce Springsteen in concert in Detroit in March, spent a week in the Outer Banks with some of our favorite people in April (sidenote: 4 couples, 3 kids, and 2 dogs in 1 house is...a lot!), celebrated 4th of July with the entire Hunt clan in Petoskey, MI, explored London for a week in October, and popped down to Williamsburg, VA in December for an early holiday gathering with the extended Schultz family.Â
Some of our favorite memories of the year were around a table: an elaborate "Perfect Pairing" dinner party involving weeks of planning and coordination resulting in 5 courses each perfectly matched with a complimenting beverage, homemade sushi with fish caught by the our friends hours before, BGE pizzas eaten standing while toddlers ran around a kitchen, ice cream sandwiches with family for Mary's 1st birthday, hammering crabs at a waterfront crab house in Maryland, and most recently a Thanksgiving with Mary's biggest fans in attendance.
Mary continues to amaze and inspire us, and make us laugh. Her current interest in eating all foods with chopsticks is equally confusing and impressive. Her ability to attract the neighborhood kids for impromptu front-yard play sessions brings joy to all. We cannot wait to see what she does next.Â
